It’s no secret that energy rates are really on the rise in this country and for some states the kilowatt hours (rate by which some companies charge you) have nearly doubled. Bounce electric rates in Leander have really been good, but what about those of you who might not have access to this service? For those of us who might not have any alternatives, the only way to save the wallet is to save the energy and that means putting a little more effort toward energy conservation, but all this requires is a few changes in your everyday ritual.

For starters, you can be more mindful of your surroundings. If there are any lights on in rooms that you aren’t occupying or using then hit the switch and turn them off. This might be difficult if you have children in the home as they have a tendency to move about the home without shutting off the lights, but a trip to the hardware store can fix that. There are timers and motion detectors you can attach to the lights and while they may not seem like a logical investment, they can really save you some money. Shorter showers might be in order too. And if you find yourself using up a lot of energy on heating or air conditioning you might think about ways to achieve desired effects without relying on these energy-eating implements – heavier drapes, new windows, fans, etc.

In our society, you need energy and you need to power your home – just don’t let it bankrupt you.

The Northeast Energy & Commerce Association is the oldest electric power provider in New England. This association serves to facilitate an open forum among all electric power stakeholders to develop and cater to the demands of power needs in the market. NECA has a total of 900 members that stand as representatives for 143 entities. In the 18th annual conference hosted by NECA, an innovation towards sustainable energy has been opted for in the form of wind power. The conference aims to have an in-depth analysis on questions concerning the different ways to achieve a good outcome in the New England electric power market. Further, the evolution of resources in New England is to be discussed and given proper analysis.

Wind power has been around for many years. New England has sought to generate this kind of power due to the windy climate that the area has. It is one of the best energy sources since it is widely and readily available without causing any harmful effects in the environment. The DOE even announced that there will be a 20 increase in wind power by 2030. NECA And Wind Power Generation Initiatives will aim to educate people about wind power plants that will give more wind driven electric power to consumers in New England. From time to time the NECA has provided analysis and solutions to problems involving electric energy. NECA also participates in developing policies in the Electric Power Supply Association as well as FERC and congress. The information doesn’t stop now. Keep looking: The enduring farce of “wind power”

Going green is very popular right now and you may wonder how your family can go green without disrupting everything in your life. There are a few painless ways that you can make your home greener that can be the start to leading a green life.

One of the best ways to be greener is to get reusable grocery bags. You can usually purchase these bags for a small amount and then you just bring them with you whenever you have to go to the grocery store. By using reusable bags you aren’t adding to the landfills with the plastic grocery bags, which in turn is greener.

Another thing you can do is to make sure that you only have electronic devices that you are currently using plugged in. This can save a lot of electricity since some device are pulling in electricity even when they are off. It can be simple to unplug your devices when they aren’t in use and then plug them back in when you wish to use them.

These are just a few painless way that you and your family can make your home greener, which can be helpful for both you and the environment.

Renewable energy is the buzz word these days. In New England where the winters are long and cold, the voice of the renewable energy advocates are speaking loud and clear. Northeast Energy & Commerce Association (NECA) is one such voice and they gather once a year to bring together ideas on how New England can improve their approach and commitment to Renewable Energy; once such approach is through the use, collection and distribution of solar generated power.

So you are asking yourself, “how much solar power can be generated in the New England states?”; actually quite a bit. These northeast states, while having a long and cold winter, still have the daylight hours required to generate the sunshine that is needed for solar power systems. The sunshine is the key not the suns heat. As a matter of fact the cooler weather is easier on the solar panels and in turn extends their life and efficiency. NECA remains Involved in the renewable energy industry and has pulled together the Renewable Energy Committee with the specific purpose of bringing to the forefront the benefits of solar energy. With a wide and diverse range of professionals the REC remains committed to answering the questions of the consumer and promote renewable energy to include the solar market.

NECA and Geothermal Power Generation Initiatives
With a concern over the impact of energy choices on the environment of New England, the Northeast Energy & Commerce Association has become one of the regions top proponents of green energy production. NECA is dedicated to increasing the awareness of the public to the benefits of green energy. Northeast Energy & Commerce Association is also a leader in fostering the growth of the clean/renewable energy industry in order to help grow and bolster the economy of the New England region.

This non-profit agency, New England’s oldest, serving the competitive power industry, works closely with its members in to help them understand not only the market of geothermal energy, but also the regulation, cost effectiveness, financing and delivery of geothermal power and its impact on consumers and the environment.

To accomplish their goal of promoting geothermal energy, the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association educates its members and the general public about issues concerning renewable energy through meetings, seminars for members and presentations to the public and trade associations.

An important program to help foster the growth of geothermal usage throughout New England has been a presentation to interested industry representatives on loan requirements of the Department of Energy concerning renewable energy.
